A walk to remember

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. -ISAIAH 58:11

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. -ISAIAH 40:11

You may wonder why certain paths we walk together r rough when others seem to walk an easy path in life. I have taken u down paths that point out ur inherent need of me. If u only went down paths u could accomplish wo me then independence becomes ur god. U would guide urself alone n ur wisdom ultimately would fail u. I created u with a need for me n a need for others. And for u to fully know me u must first understand ur uttermost need for me. As u open urself to dependence n trust of me u find that strength in weakness motif. As u found ur need for me n dependence on my strength in dry desolate places u also discovered flowers of rarest bloom. At the point of ur need u begin to open to me in full trust. Only at ur weakest do y find my strength flowing fully free. Here u have learned my greatest truth. Needing me is the conduit to knowing me. Why? Because in ur need u trust me. Just as faith is the conduit for the grace of salvation so is ur need for me the step to faith that becomes the conduit for knowing more of me. Therefore do not be discouraged where n when I lead u down rough terrain. For it is there that I walk the closest to u n often carry u along.

In Sync w him

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. -1 PETER 5:7

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. -EPHESIANS 3:16–19

What’s troubling you?
To worship God requires being able to focus. To hear his voice requires focus n quietness of spirit. Take what bothers you, distracts your thoughts, n cast them all upon him. We do not see how blessed the casting of cares upon him produces power in our life. It is freedom. U cannot control life. U cannot change ur height or yurn ur hair white. Too often we r only thinking how we can relieve ourself of burdens. However wat if he says thru this burden he will show us sufficient grace? Wat if he desires that we do not circumvent this trial but that we climb this mountain or tunnel thru it.  By casting our cares upon him we can find a focus n quietness of spirit that allows us to hear his voice n to worship him purely. We r too cumbered abt by the burden to realize we r yoked to Him. Jesus says do not focus on the burden but on the yoke n him. Learn from him how to pull the load as a team w him. Learn by the nuance of his mannerisms as to when to stop or go. Lean upon his strength. U cannot carry the load by urself. So cast ur cares n listen to his voice. Look now to the path. See only that u move at the wishes of his spirit. Tackle the amount of the road that he directs. Cast ur cares n focus ur worship wo distraction. Find freedom in being in sync w him.

This is the day

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. -PSALM 118:24

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.  

Today is the creation of God.  Time flows from his hand as ink from an authors pen. Moments n hours come available to u as the unveiling of a story from an ancient tome. Pages find revealing more of this day. God has given u this time.  U do not know the future till it reveals itself in the present like the unveiling of a scroll. Ur life known only to God will be revealed today. Rejoice in the moments n breath given by God to u today. Too often our eyes settle on the rough patches n potholes along lifes pathway. We forget, in our fallen world blessings n sorrow intermingle. We look at the storm instead of the prince of our peace. We get mesmerized by the pain when we should focus on the great physician. We analyze the pruning when our hope rests in the great farmer who

prunes

us to produce greater fruit. As clay in the hands of the potter let us rejoice in his day he has given. Let us wonder at his marvelous touch. He tenderly molds the clay n fashions it to the beautiful vision captured in his mind alone. Let’s yield under his gentle molding of our lives. Let’s endure the fire of his ovens in due time. Remember no vessel of clay has any value till its glaze is sealed by his fire n its clay been hardened by his furnace blast. Enter each day rejoicing. End each day rejoicing. The great master artist of ur soul has created this day for u n is at work shaping u into His image of glory.

Attitude of gratitude

Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. -1 THESSALONIANS 5:16–18 KJV

The attitude of gratitude

How do u approach God? Some of us approach him so sparingly that we have not developed a rapport with Him as father n friend. Others of us approach him so frequently in despair that we have forgotten to approach him in dignity as king. Now I do not negate either approaches cuz we can never go wrong by coming to God. We go wrong by not seeking him. The problem for the us is that he desires we approach him regularly n joy. When we come

desperately

we should come in joy because we can approach him. When we come to him in fear we should rejoice he can protect us. When we come hungry we should rejoice cuz he not only made everything he owns everything. When we need mercy we should rejoice cuz there is none so forgiving n none with as great an abundance of new mercies. As we rejoice in coming to him we begin to see how a thankful heart develops. A perspective of joy

gravitates

our attitude towards thanksgiving. These r the proper doorways to go thru to approach his throne. Learning to do this we can naturally begin to pray wo ceasing. None of this means that we will not sorrow or agonize in prayer. Even our lord spent time agonizing in prayer. It simply means that joy n thanksgiving open our hearts to praying to God at all time. In laymen terms we are on speaking terms w our father. We can joyfully be thankful no matter our circumstance or level of trials we r going thru. God will be with us thru our trial. He has wat we need to get thru it. He supplies what we need to overcome it. He will defeat enemies, defend his children, n vindicate the righteous n innocent. Our God is great n greatly to be praised.

Thankful for n in all things

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,yet I will rejoice in the LORD,I will be joyful in God my Savior. -HABAKKUK 3:17–18

Thanksgiving n pleasant positive thinking comes natural when all goes our way. However God desires that we not only rejoice when times r good but that we rejoice in times of trial by focusing on His truths. What truths r these? God is still on his throne. Prayer changes things. God will never leave us nor forsake us. He gives peace that passes understanding….there r so many great n precious promises. Think here of habbakuk. God told him an enemy would come n ravage their land, attack n enslave his people n carry away all their riches. Further God said he would not only use israels enemies against them but he would destroy their enviroment n economy all because of their sins. Ultimately in the tragic end God visits habbakuk n gives him the hope he will save a remnant of faithful people. That sliver of hope n the vision of God gave habbakuk enough reason to rejoice n be thankful. He became so thankful that he spun in circles jumped up and down praising God. Do u find urself only thanking God in good times? Anyone can do that. That’s human. Have u learned to be thankful in all things n for all things? That is divine.

Pruning n the pruner

Pruning

John 15:5–8

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Vs 2

Ever felt like things were leaving your life abruptly? Ever felt like too many things were being weighed down upon u? Or have you ever felt the bruising of pain and sorrow? Of course you have. We all have such moments in our lives. These moments r just like the pruning n bruising vegetable plants to make them strong n better producers. Tho it seemed crude to me at the time I watched my great grandmother strike her tomato plants with a dowel stick to cause the blooms to “set”. C S Lewis said we might leave a dog w a crooked leg but a child we would spend our last dime for corrective surgeries so that child could run. Likewise God is pruning to make us stronger fruit producers. Other times God may be reducing our priorities to manageable pieces. God is a masterful farmer. He knows what will cause us to blossom and produce a richer harvest. Never believe for once that God has abandoned you when trials come. In order for my Papa and my Granny to work their plants and trees in their garden effectively they had to get down in the dirt and into the thick of the plants. Likewise God actually may be found to be closer to you in the midst of trial than it feels. We focus on the pruning when we should focus on the pruner.

Unfailing leadership

“In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.” -EXODUS 15:13

You know where ur destiny will be concluded. We settled that at ur spiritual birth. U r mine n I am urs. My home has become yr home. I have gone n built dwelling places for you, my bride. Since u know where u will be in the end leave the timing n method of ur translation to me. Concern urself only w my leadership. Trust me for the direction n the future. U only have to concern urself w my guidance n where u should go on a daily basis. I supply u w enough guidance to know my logical reasonable plan but I leave out enough that u must trust me. As u walk w me over long periods of ur life u will come to know the peace of trusting me for every step. I lead u truly because I love u. I carry u in ur weakness, lift u up when u fall n hold u close in the storm. Trust my help, n my knowledge for the journey. U may have not traversed this path before but I have been this journey many times thru out history. I know the path n I know the future. Come let us walk n see the adventure where u trust me wo worry n I guide u in my integrity n confident strength.
