13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;
This one thing
You complicate ur life too much. I did not call u to be busy. I called u to one thing. U think in much words ur praying is better. Likewise u think in much doing u r accomplishing my plan. My call is simplicity. Ministry is simple. In salvation, I send my spirit to convict people of their need of me. I send angels, prophets n my spirit to prepare my written word. I give the gift of faith n repentance to those unbelievers who recieve my gift of eternal life. All u have to do is to tell the good news as u go thru life. The same simplicity in salvation where I do the heavy work is in other ministry as well. U cannot be holy in ur own strength. U cannot minister to others without my spirit. I am the vine u r the branch. Without me u cannot bear fruit. I am yoked to u while u learn of me. U cannot work or walk w me without my strength. U r spinning ur life faster n faster, trying too hard. U need to do only one thing. Focus on me n my life in u. The rest will happen thru u by my strength n power. U have bitten off too much if u r trying to do more. U have set urself up for failure. Salvation, service, n ministry r simple. This one thing is all I require of u. Like the birth of a baby, growth of that baby, all happen at my will n my timing. Seek me, the high calling of holiness, the rest will happen.

O LORD,you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. -PSALM 139:1–4
I know u
Nothing is hidden from me. I am not surprised or unaware of you at any level. It may trouble u for me to know u so intimately but that is only due to sin. I love u n want u to know me. I want to help u become more than u could ever become by urself. When I become the focus of ur life then the pieces of ur life come together to fit into lifes greater puzzle. Purpose n hope r found in me not in the world. Looking at the world to find purpose is like looking at the pile of puzzle pieces alone. Only some lines of symmetry r available. However when u look into my word n seek to know me its like looking at the cover of the box. Then u r able to get a glimpse of the bigger plan. N just as each life forms its own puzzle when fitted together with others it forms another larger puzzle. Linked together thru all history it then forms an even larger mural. I know how u fit. I see the larger picture. Come n know me as intimately as I know u.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” -ISAIAH 55:9–11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,“plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -JEREMIAH 29:11
As u start today really rely on me. My plans for u r perfect. Go ahead n make ur agenda. Frame it with prayer n my word. Set ur plans in motion but trust me. When things prosper n follow our plans glorify me. When u find obstacles in ur path or things seem to go awry watch out for me. I am always working with my will n your best interest at heart. Even when u cannot see me working u can rest assure of the decided good I am working out in ur life. Rest in my faithfulness. Rely on my integrity. Do not doubt my intended plans. What I promise I will keep.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” -JOHN 16:33
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man… He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. -PSALM 112:4, 7
Trust me rightly
Some things r easy to entrust to God. Paul said he had entrusted his life to God against the day of judgement. If we can trust God for eternity we can trust him for today. Sucess is found in dependance on God n not indepenence. Trust God when things r good but also when things r bad. He told us in this life we will have trouble. Do not fear the trouble but trust him. He has overcome the world n all its trouble. We spend too much time focusing on the fix rather than the one who fixes things. We need to not watch the storm clouds so closely but the one who walks with us. We need not fear the darkness where we cannot see but trust the one who holds our hand n sees thru the darkness. God is for us. Who can stand against him. There truly is no other we can trust better.
For we walk by faith, not by sight. -2 CORINTHIANS 5:7
Romans 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith….
Walk by faith
What is success in our spiritual life? Some think it is walking without stumbling or failure. If that were the case none of us would find victory. Thankfully God evaluates by different standards. He focuses on process n individual action coupled with the intent of the heart. Think abt the time Jesus sent his disciples down from the mount of transfiguration. He knew they would fail in trying to cast out the demon in the boy. Failure is only wrong if we dwell there. Jesus knew that failure is a means to an end. He used it to teach them. If victorious living means life without struggle or doubt then job, abram, sarai, David, n Paul all failed. The problem for us is our definition of success. God sees it differently. We walk by faith and r successful even tho we struggle, stumble, n don’t always, make the best decisions. It’s because our failures n struggles serve as teachable moments. We do not fail if we grow in dependence on God. Remember the bible declares Gods definition of Abrams success, as not staggering at the promises of God. Yet he tried to replace Gods promised heir with his servant. Further he and Sara contrived the plan to have the son of promise by hagar. Sounds like they stumbled many times. Yet God states clearly he was victorious in faith. How did abram do that? He never let his doubts in himself, others, delays or circumstances stop his belief in the unlimited power of Gods ability. Go struggle n learn deeper dependence on God. Be a success by walking by faith.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. -PSALM 32:8 NASB
Don’t be ashamed
Don’t get so busy u forget time w me. I am the eternal God n I work in, thru n with time. Too often u live at a speed where u miss out on time with me. I have ur time in my hands. I number ur days n know your end from ur beginning. U can afford to spend time with me. I have given u sufficient time in ur days n life to spend time with me. I hold u in my hands. U cannot afford not to spend time with me. I am not just eternal life, I am ur life. Trust me I have given u enough life to do what I have sent u to do. Invest in me n I will invest in u. Our time is never a waste but is the basis whereby u live and breathe each day. Come to me n be refreshed. Come to me n be filled so u have resources to minister in the lives of ur family, friends n strangers.
(Proverbs 8:14) Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
Today I need your wisdom. Your counsel and wisdom defies my strongest knowledge. You give me hope and help when I know not which way to turn. Not only do I need your advice, I need your wisdom. I do not know how to apply your wisdom and turn it into action. You are my muse and my hope. You are my chief advisor and my physician. I fail miserably when I walk in my own understanding. Give me words to direct my life. Give me wisdom to know how best to use your truth. Give me understanding so I can teach others. Only then will my feet find a sure place to walk. Then and only then will my weakness find strength for the journey and inspiration to rise up again when I fall.
