7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8– We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
Depression dogs the steps of many people. I am one of those people. Sometimes it comes after an illness. In fact it may even come during the illness. Then other times it comes as a dark cloud when nothing is wrong at all. Even like Christ after his baptism it can come after the spiritual high of ministry. Understandably medical depression can and must be treated, spiritual depression must be treated as well. If satanic activity or sinful issues are involved confession and dedication to God resolve the issues. If the issues are medical Jesus told us that the sick need a physician. Mark 2:17 However sometimes no answer may be found. Medicine taken, sins confessed n counsel taken do not defeat this spectre. It creeps in like fog n slips seamlessly thru ur life. Words of those around u drip with added meaning to u. Darkness hides the sun midday. We r fallen, finite, n broken. Christ gives us new life, a new mind, a new way to think yet until our final breath the process of metamorphosis is not completed. We r not whole till our glorification. For that cause we groan for the full recreation. We long n pray for our ultimate change. We live n look for the day where no clouds fog the vision of our soul. We long for that eternal clear day.
II Corinthians 5:4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
